The Goro Nickel Project located on the South Pacific island of New Caledonia commenced production in August 2010. The expected annual capacity of the project is 60,000t of nickel and 4,300t to 5,000t of cobalt.
The Equinox concrete batching system controlled Wagners main batch plant. Wagners was responsible for the supply of concrete aggregates, production of 160,000 M3 of structural concrete for placement in processing plants, marine structures, dams, wharfs, tunnels and general civil works at the Goro Nickel Mine Complex.

Photo above shows two of the aggregate weigh hoppers, with the material bins above. There were 4 weigh hoppers in total. This plant weighed all aggregates simultaneously with a throughput of 120 cubic metres/ hour. The high throughput of the plant was largely due to all aggregates weighing up simultaneously.
During project construction, 3,000 workers were housed onsite.
